Tapio Wirkkala was a Finnish sculptor and industrial designer. His Ultima Thule glassware series is one of his most celebrated and well-known designs. Inspired by melting ice, it’s the logical choice for Andorian glassware. It was used in the Enterprise episode “Proving Ground,” as Shran’s drinking glass on the Kumari.
