Modesty Veiled Armchair by Italo Rota for Driade

Designed 2012

Italo Rota was an Italian architect and Industrial designer, who began his career working in the offices of Franco Albini, Vittorio Gregotti, and Pierluigi Nicolin before founding his own studio, Italo Rota Building Office. He’s perhaps best known for his work in Paris, where he famously collaborated with Gae Aultenti on the adaption of the Musée d'Orsay from a beaux-arts former railway station into an art museum, and the renovation of the Museum of Modern Art at the Pompidou Centre.

His Modesty Veiled armchair, for Driade, was used as furnishing for Saru’s office at Federation Headquarters in the Discovery episode, “Jinaal.”
