Nesting Coffee Table by Frederick Kiesler

Designed c. 1935
No longer in production

Frederick Kiesler was an Austrian-born American artist, architect, and industrial designer. His early work was primarily in theatrical design, but he was also involved in such artistic schools as the European avant garde, De Stijl, and surrealism. His nesting coffee features sculptural curves evocative of his artwork. One half of this table was used in the Voyager episode, “In the Flesh,” as set dressing for the apartment of “Valery Archer” on the Species 8472 simulation of Earth.
