Sylvia Stave was a Swedish silversmith and pioneer of modernist design in Sweden. Her cocktail shaker was designed in 1937, and reentered production in 1989 through Alessi. It appears in The Next Generation in the episodes, “First Contact,” in the Sikla Medical Facility on Malcor III, and “Timescape,” in Data’s quarters, though Data uses it as a kettle to boil water.
