Poul Henningsen was a Danish industrial designer, architect, and writer, best known for his elegant modernist lighting. He first designed the three-shade light system in the mid 1920’s, though they would be reproduced in hundreds of variations over the years. It’s used in Strange New World as lighting for Captain Pike’s quarters and several crew quarters.
