PH Hat Sconce by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen

Poul Henningsen was a Danish industrial designer, architect, and writer, best known for his elegant modernist lighting designs. His PH Hat Sconce features an adjustable back arm which allows in to function as a downlight or backlight. To my knowledge, they were never produced in black and were likely painted for their use in Star Trek. Several PH Hat sconces were used in The Next Generation episodes, “Sarek,” in the Enterprise-D conference room, and “Redemption,” on Qo’noS.
