Anchor Hocking is an American glassware manufacturer, whose products are now ubiquitous to department stores and restaurant wholesale. They debuted their Royal Ruby line in 1938, utilizing a glassmaking process wherein copper was used to achieve a deeper, more even red. Glassware historians have dated Anchor Hocking’s Ruby Red production periods from 1938-1967 and 1973-1977. It was used in the Picard episode, “The End is the Beginning,” as a decanter for a bottle of Chateau Picard, at Raffi Musiker’s home in the Vasquez Rocks, Earth.
