Continental Jukebox by AMI

1961
No longer in production

The Automatic Musical Instrument Company (AMI) was founded as the National Automatic Music Company in 1909. Originally specializing the manufacture of automatic player pianos, they expanded their production to jukeboxes in 1927 (1). Their Continental line marked a departure from traditional, boxy jukebox design, in favor of a sci-fi inspired shape featuring a floating catalogue display and and domed glass cover. The Continental I and II were largely identical, save for the color scheme (2). The jukebox used in Picard appears to use parts from both, as buttons and details are in the soft teal of the Continental I, while the front graphic and grill match that of the Continental II. Whichever model, it was used in the third season of Picard, in Ten Forward.
