Globe Garden Chair by Peter Opsvik

Designed 1984
No longer in production

Peter Opsvik was a Norwegian industrial designer, best known for his unusual ergonomic chairs. His Globe Garden Chair was inspired by resting in trees, with limbs draped across various branches. It was used in The Next Generation, on the bridge of the Tarellian ship in “Haven,” alongside Opsvik’s Globe stools, and in multiple episodes in Worf’s quarters. More recently, it appeared briefly, in animated form, in the Cargo bay of the Cerritos in the Lower Decks episode, “Of Gods and Angles.”
