Filo Flatware by Antonio Piva for Studio 2000

Antonio Piva was an Italian silversmith and industrial designer, best known for his lighting collaborations with Franco Albini. His Filo flatware was used in several episodes of Deep Space Nine.

I initially mistakenly attributed the flatware used in DS9 as Towle’s Nordic pattern, which is a copycat of Piva’s flatware produced in the 1980’s. There are noticeable differents, though. The Filo flatware has a more rounded bottom than the Nordic, as well as more squared spoons. If you just want the DS9 look, the Nordic flatware is a cheaper alternative. Both are pictured below.
