Well, I still haven’t got access to the @startrekdesign Instagram account, but I’m slowly adding old posts to the @startrek.design backup. I’ve also spent the morning adding a few new pages for identified objects, including two from ENT “The Aenar” that I’m excited about (they were a lot of work to track down):

I’ve also updated the Costes Chair designed by Philippe Starck for Driade page to reflect its use in Deep Space Nine.

Some bad and some good news today.

The bad news is that instagram shut down the @startrekdesign ig account, without giving a reason why. I’ve challenged it, but in the event that it’s gone for good, I’ve made a backup: @startrek.design, though there are no posts yet. It’s possible someone took issue with the use of “Star Trek” as a copyrighted name, despite it being a fan account which generates no income (and that I’ve spoken to several people who work on the Trek production teams, and no one has ever mentioned it being a problem). I’m exploring the possibility of changing the handle to something without Star Trek in the name.

The good news is actually from a while ago, though I haven’t shared yet: Thank you to Puno Puno and Daniel Chin Yee for mentioning Star Trek + Design as an inspiration for your beautiful apartment, in your interview for Apartment Therapy! I really appreciate the shout out :).
